Biomass Pellets Market in Slovakia
Slovakia is situated in Central Europe and it borders with Poland. With the introduction of biomass pellet machine in Poland, Slovakia is also speeding up its pace of using biomass pellets. Before, coal in Slovakia has been the main energy fuel, but now biomass pellets have replaced coal as the alternative energy resources.
Slovakia is considered to have and it does have the ideal natural conditions for developing biomass energy. Industrial wood residues and forestry wood residues are quite abundant in the north and central part. Meanwhile straw and other agricultural wastes are widely distributed in southwest and east part. Thanks to the above favorable conditions, biomass pellets production is ensured with adequate raw materials. Accordingly, a lot of biomass pellet plants and biomass pellet machines have been applied in the domestic to utilize these biomass materials to produce biomass pellets.
Produced biomass pellets are not only used to satisfy the domestic demand of biomass pellets for industrial heat and power and private heating, but also are exported to foreign countries. In the domestic, biomass pellets produced by biomass pellet machine are mainly applied in small boilers and stoves by localities. Medium scale users usually consist of schools, municipal offices, companies, hotels etc. Big users are mainly large industries and light industries for generating heat and electricity. As for exportation, Italy, Poland and Austria are three main importers. Although these countries do have their own biomass pellets production, none of them have so many raw materials that can be used by biomass pellet machine to produce enough biomass pellets, which provides the exportation opportunity for Slovakia.
Domestic consumption and external importation of biomass pellets have indeed stimulated the biomass pellets market in Slovakia in the past years. Now with the promise of GHG emission reduction and using renewable energy, biomass pellets will definitely be further consumed. Therefore biomass pellets production will expand and biomass pellets market will show continuous growth in the future.
